About the event

For Emilie Jackson of Emilie’s French Teas in Waldo, tea is a reminder of home, of walks to tearooms and cafes in France with her mother. A peaceful moment to savor. For you, a particular tea may evoke a memory—a feeling, a taste, a moment that you had forgotten. In this two-hour workshop, Emilie will teach participants the art of savoring tea. Participants will record their experiences with each tea, which will lead into the writing part of the workshop. MFA and community member Lindsey Weishar will lead participants through a series of writing exercises focused around moments of noticing—with particular attention to how the five senses are used in literature and poetry to evoke rich sensory experiences. There will be time to share work at the end of the workshop.

Writers of all genres welcome. Tea tasters of all experiences welcome. No writing experience necessary.

Cost of the workshop $40 for members / $50 for nonmembers
