About the event
A 2-hour webinar about Ix-Chel: Maya Goddess of the moon, of midwifery, and medicine from ancient Maya culture.
With love and respect for this much revered deity, Li-Lan and Alex will share the various symbolisms of Ix-chel that provide a deep connection to Nature, an aspect that is missing in modern medicine and can be diluted even in natural medicine practices in their pursuit of being accepted into modern society.
The triptych personification, though a traditional representation of a woman’s cycle, is applicable to our modern times regardless of gender if one delves into their deeper meaning and embodies them for personal reflection, assessment, and awareness.  The second part of the presentation will include Li-Lan leading a meditation that she wrote on her birth date in 2013 for connecting to Ix-Chel, followed by a closing affirmation with Alex.

Speakers Bio and connection to Ix-Chel
Ix-Chel is part of a group of Spiritual Luminaries that Li-Lan Hsiang Weiss (she/hers), Energy healer, practitioner of Chinese medicine, and abdominal therapist in Durham, NC has been fortunate to learn from as taught to her by Dr. Rosita Arvigo and her teacher Maya H’men Don Elijio Panti.  2020 being a year of profound spiritual growth for her and the healing center Armonia Health LLC she stewards, a virtual series on Yin Goddesses has emerged that she titles Embodying Yin in Action.  Ix-Chel is the second of the teachers she is sharing, the first being Tonanzin/Our Lady of Guadalupe with shaman Francis Rico, others following will include Kuan Yin.  This series includes a cultural presentation, personal stories of embodiment practices, and meditations.
Li-Lan grew up in Central America and maintains a connection to her Taiwanese ancestral roots; her mother’s lineage is strongly linked to Taiwanese Buddhist and Taoist practices.  She is currently in the process of embodying the union of Yin and Yang in action and within herself, thus she is grateful  to collaborate with Maya abdominal massage colleague Alex Jackson for this event.
Alex, originally from New Mexico, is a Holistic Health Practitioner specializing in Traditional Maya Medicine who co-founded Centered Spirit® – Cultural & Holistic Center, located in Kansas City, MO. From the day he was first introduced to Ix-Chel from Dr. Rosita Arvigo in 2003, Alex has had a special connection with the Maya Goddess - both in his personal and professional life. Although Alex is a male, he has always been able to respect, understand and align with the feminine cycles of life - both physically and emotionally. Ix-Chel has helped to complete this spiritual duality for him and given him a constant faith in everyday life.
