Acupressure

Acupressure is a traditional Maya and Chinese medicine technique that follows similar principles as acupuncture but without needles. It’s based on the concept of Ch’ulel (Maya word for energy), or Chi, which flows through “meridians” in the body.

Like Cupping Therapy, acupressure is not offered as a stand-alone service, but included in either the AIH sessions or acupuncture sessions at the discretion of the practitioner if deemed necessary to enhance the individual session.

Benefits of Acupressure

  • Relieve stress and anxiety.

  • Improve sleep.

  • Regulate digestion.

  • Pain relief, including headaches, migraine, back pain and menstrual cramps.

What to expect during your treatment:

  • Physical pressure is applied to different points on the body to clear blockages or congestion in the body’s meridians.

  • Pressure may be applied by hand, by elbow or with various devices.
