About the event

Mindfulness, an integrative mind-body approach to living, assists us in relating to our experiences with greater serenity and clarity. It involves paying attention to the present moment in a way that can increase awareness and effectively mobilize our own inner resources to cope, heal and grow.

Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) is an 8-week course in mindful living developed in the late ’70s by Jon Kabat-Zinn at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center. MBSR has been found to positively and often profoundly affect participants’ ability to reduce medical symptoms and psychological distress while learning to live life more fully.

In this free, one and a half-hour online session, participants will be introduced to a working definition of mindfulness, learn the ways in which moment-to-moment awareness is cultivated, its empirically-supported benefits and receive an overview of the Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction course.

If you have not used the Zoom online platform before, you can learn more about system requirements you will need to have in place to join the call here
